The Cutty Sark was built on the River Clyde in 1869 for Jock Willis who used the ship to bring tea from China and wool from Australia. She proved to be the fastest clipper ship built at the time and after a long life of service and remained in 1922 she eventually ended up at the dry dock at Greenwich, for public display.
